Bowers said that he worked alone and did not have a relationship with the Democratic candidate, Barack Obama. He also said that using Google as a search engine is the most commonly used by voters during the 2004 election. Bowers chose a new article based on the latest issue, which makes the choice to cancel voters over McCain. "We only use the words of McCain himself, all of which we select are all the things McCain has done or he has to say. There is no prejudice at all. There is also no opinion. These are excerpts from McChain own. In fact this is manipulation, but the search engines is not a public forum, but this is about how you use it for personal gain from the information obtained in it ", as in the said Bowers.

Julie Barko Germany, director of The Institute of Politics, Democracy and the Internet at George Washington University, said not only can use the method of Bowers, but Bowers was the first he knew using that method. "Google bombing" is a very interesting strategy to distribute positive articles or negatively to attract public attention.
